Renovation of Rømersgade is nearing completion

The renovation and transformation of Rømersgade has entered its final phase. The new dormer windows are now in place, the roof has been sealed, and the building's renewed silhouette has become a natural part of the historic streetscape. From the outside, the project is now largely complete, marking an important milestone in the transformation of the 1880 courtyard building originally designed by Julius Bagger.

Inside, work continues on the final finishes and restoration details. With only the last interior works remaining, the project is gradually revealing the ambition that has guided it from the beginning: to carefully restore the property's architectural qualities while adapting it for contemporary living.

The project re-establishes two generously proportioned period apartments and transforms the roof space into new penthouse homes. The added dormers follow the rhythm and proportions of the neighbouring buildings, allowing the new intervention to become a natural continuation of Copenhagen's historic roofscape rather than a contrast to it.

As completion approaches, the project demonstrates how careful restoration and contemporary additions can work together to extend the life of historic buildings while preserving their architectural identity.
