Shortlisted for Campus Fountain House competition
We are incredibly proud to be among the three teams selected—out of an initial eight practices—through a pre-dialogue and pitch process to compete for the future Campus Fountain House in Copenhagen.
Fountain House in Østerbro is a place where people living with mental health challenges become part of a community and a meaningful everyday life. Here, you are not a ‘client’ or a ‘patient’, but a member—actively participating in running the house alongside staff and peers.
The foundation is simple: people recover and develop better in communities, and participation and belonging can be crucial steps forward in life.
Our task as architects is to create a cohesive campus for the Fountain House Foundation and the Fontana School, with a focus on how architecture can support community, wellbeing, and new opportunities in everyday life.
The campus will be a transformation of an existing building complex that, over the past 120 years, has housed everything from a coffee substitute factory, wine and fruit-juice production, and metal casting, to film production and a data center—before Fountain House took over the site in 1997.
Forma Studio is part of a team with Ingholt Consult, selected alongside:
• EFFEKT / Holst Engineering
• NORD / ABC Consult
This is a project closely aligned with our practice—both in working with transformation and in developing architecture with a clear social purpose.
We would like to thank the Fountain House Foundation, the A.P. Møller Foundation, and Realdania for the trust—we look forward to the next phase.
